Full payment must accompany the booking as we do not accept provisional bookings and places will only be confirmed once payment is received.

Cancellations of confirmed places are accepted if notification is received in writing upto 12 working days prior to the start of the course.  An administration fee of £90.00 per student will be deducted plus any other costs incurred i.e. study pack, postage etc.  The remainder of the course fee(s) will be refunded to the payee via the same method of payment. No refund of the course fees will be made for cancellations notified within 12 working days prior to the start of the course, or once the course has begun.  Course fees will be refunded in full if Wine School of Excellence changes a course date or cancels a course if enrolments do not reach the required minimum numbers – notification will be made within the 12 working days prior to the planned start date of the course wherever possible.


Transfers of a confirmed booking to another identical course can be made if notification is received in writing up to 12 working days before the course start date on payment of a £60.00 administration fee per student.  Within 12 working days prior to the start of the course, no refund or transfer of the course fees will be made. Please note *all transfers are subject to availability on alternative course/examination dates.


Examinations  If the student fails to attend, he/she will be liable for subsequent examination fees.  Re-sit examinations and/or feedback are not included in the course fee.  All students are required to bring along authorised photographic ID (passport, photo driving license) with them to the examination otherwise they will be refused entry.


Examination dates are fixed to the course onto which you book and any transfer to an alternative date will incur an administration fee of £50.00 per student. *All transfer requests must be made in writing or via email (courses@wineschoolofexcellence.co.uk) at least 12 working days before the original examination date. Re-sit examinations are not included in the course fee.  


Special examination condition requirements due to dyslexia or other medical reasons must be notified prior to the start of the course and supported by a doctor’s certificate or similar document.


Under 18.  Students and candidates under the legal minimum age for the retail purchase of alcoholic beverages will NOT be permitted to sample any alcoholic beverages as part of their course. This is NOT, however, a barrier for successfully completing the Level 1 or Level 2 qualifications. All bookings are processed on the understanding and basis that you have read and agreed to the Booking Terms and Conditions.


Postage WSE will send certificates (all levels) and study packs for Level 2 and Level 3 Awards by Royal Mail 2nd Class postage to one postal address within the UK. This service has no track and trace facility. WSE will retain proof of sending from the Post Office and the responsibility then passes to the customer.  If customers/students wish to be able to monitor the delivery progress of their item(s), the customer may purchase as an extra Royal Mail’s 1st Class Signed For Service therefore, if required please contact us directly.  WSE will in these occasions issue the customer with the tracking number on posting. (NB:  This excludes all Level 1 courses as Study Guides are issued on the first day of the course)

Reservation of Right to Amend. Wine School of Excellence reserves the right to change these Booking Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Cancellations/Refunds  Once booked, no refunds apply to Online Classroom courses.  This includes refunds or reduction in fees for previously purchased materials, examinations not taken within the 12 month course registration period or non-attendance at a booked tutorial session or feedback test bookings.


Educators communicate with students via the online classroom only (Level 3 exception, when students attend their compulsory 1-day tutored tasting/lecture day).  


Examinations On enrolment, we will let you know the forthcoming exam dates and it’s up to you which one of those you would like to attend (please note that the examination does need to have taken place within 12 months from enrolment).  All we ask is that you notify us a minimum of 12 working days prior to the exam day so that we that we can register you with WSET® Awards. Once an examination date is agreed/booked, transfers are not permissible. Expiry of the Scheduled Course Dates  Online courses have specific and published scheduled course dates i.e. 4 week period for Level 1, 5 week period for Level 2 and 9 week period for Level 3. After the expiry of these set course dates, students will not be able to take part in any of the online activities and will no longer have the online educator support facility.  However, students will still be able to access and complete the Online Classroom course within the 12 months from enrolment.


Expiry of the 12 month Enrolment Period  If the student has not completed the course and/or examination within the 12 months from enrolment and does wish to complete their studies, he/she will need to re-enrol paying the relevant fees at the time of re-enrolment.
